H.F. 2125 Section 1. PSYCHIATRIC INTENSIVE INPATIENT CARE 1 REIMBURSEMENT —— MEDICAID. No later than January 1, 2023, the 2 department of human services shall implement a tiered rate 3 reimbursement methodology for psychiatric intensive inpatient 4 care under the Medicaid program based on the level of patient 5 acuity and other factors as recommended in the inpatient bed 6 tracking study committee report submitted to the governor and 7 the general assembly on December 1, 2021. 8 EXPLANATION 9 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 10 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 11 This bill requires the department of human services, 12 no later than January 1, 2023, to implement a tiered rate 13 reimbursement methodology for psychiatric intensive inpatient 14 care under the Medicaid program based on the level of patient 15 acuity and other factors as recommended in the inpatient bed 16 tracking study committee report submitted to the governor and 17 the general assembly on December 1, 2021. 18 -1- LSB 5588HV (1) 89 pf/rh 1/ 1
