1.
Section
232.71B,
subsection
10,
Code
2022,
is
1
amended
to
read
as
follows:

10.
Physical
examination.
3
a.
If
the
department
refers
a
child
to
a
physician
for
4
a
physical
examination,
the
department
shall
contact
the
5
physician
regarding
the
examination
within
twenty-four
hours
6
of
making
the
referral.
If
the
physician
who
performs
the
7
examination
upon
referral
by
the
department
reasonably
believes
8
the
child
has
been
abused,
the
physician
shall
report
to
9
the
department
within
twenty-four
hours
of
performing
the
10
examination.
11
b.
The
department
shall
only
contract
with
a
physician
12
for
services
in
relation
to
a
child
abuse
assessment
if
the
13
physician
verifies
the
physician
has
the
ability
to
obtain
14
consultations
with
other
physicians,
including
but
not
limited
15
to
radiologists,
geneticists,
and
endocrinologists,
who
have
16
expertise
in
identifying
unique
health
conditions
including
but
17
not
limited
to
all
of
the
following:

(1)
Rickets.
19
(2)
Ehlers-Danlos
syndrome.
20
(3)
Osteogenesis
imperfecta.
21
(4)
Vitamin
“D”
deficiency.

(5)
Any
other
metabolic
bone
disease
or
connective
tissue
23
disorder.

c.
If,
during
a
child
abuse
assessment,
there
is
25
disagreement
between
two
or
more
physicians
about
a
child’s
26
injuries
or
the
presence
of
a
condition
listed
in
paragraph
“b”
,
27
each
physician
must
agree
to
a
blind
peer
review
process
to
28
resolve
the
disagreement.

bill
relates
to

bill
provides
that
the
