H.F. 207 Section 1. NEW SECTION . 70A.12A Peace officers —— lodging. 1 If a peace officer employed by the department of public 2 safety, the department of natural resources, or the department 3 of transportation must obtain lodging while engaging in travel 4 that is required as part of the peace officer’s job duties, the 5 department employing the peace officer shall permit the peace 6 officer to obtain single-occupancy lodging upon request. 7 EXPLANATION 8 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 9 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 10 This bill provides that if a peace officer employed by 11 the department of public safety, the department of natural 12 resources, or the department of transportation must obtain 13 lodging while engaging in travel that is required as part 14 of the peace officer’s job duties, the department employing 15 the peace officer shall permit the peace officer to obtain 16 single-occupancy lodging upon request. 17 -1- LSB 2151YH (3) 89 je/rn 1/ 1
