EFFECTIVE
DATE.
This
Act,
being
deemed
of
immediate
2
importance,
takes
effect
upon
enactment.

EXPLANATION
4
The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
5
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
extends
the
repeal
date
of
the
Iowa
energy
center
7
established
in
Code
section
15.120
from
July
1,
2022,
to
July
8
1,
2030.
9
The
bill
also
extends
specified
funding
sources
for
the
10
Iowa
energy
center
and
the
center
for
global
and
regional
11
environmental
research
to
July
1,
2030,
and
makes
conforming
12
amendments.
13
The
bill
provides
that
the
full
amount
of
specified
14
remittances
from
gas
and
electric
utilities
are
appropriated
to
15
the
Iowa
energy
center.
Current
law
provides
for
a
portion
of
16
such
remittances
to
be
transferred
to
the
general
fund.
17
The
bill
takes
effect
upon
enactment.
