NEW SECTION . 52.39 Internet connectivity —— 1 prohibited. 2 Automatic tabulating equipment, ballot marking devices, 3 and optical scan voting systems approved for use in this 4 state shall not be capable of connecting to the internet or a 5 wireless modem. 6 EXPLANATION 7 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 8 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 9 This bill prohibits automatic tabulating equipment, ballot 10 marking devices, and optical scan voting systems approved for 11 use in this state from being capable of connecting to the 12 Internet or a wireless modem. 13 -1- LSB 5375YH (2) 89 ss/jh 1/ 1
