NEW SECTION . 279.72 Health screenings —— 1 prohibition. 2 Each school district is prohibited from administering or 3 conducting a student health screening that is not required 4 by state or federal law without first acquiring the written 5 consent of the student’s parent or guardian. 6 EXPLANATION 7 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 8 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 9 This bill prohibits school districts from administering or 10 conducting student health screenings that are not required 11 by state or federal law unless the school district has first 12 acquired the written consent of the students’ parent or 13 guardian. 14 -1- LSB 5037XC (4) 88 kh/jh 1/ 1
