read
as
follows:

For
a
farmers
market
where
time/temperature
control
for

safety
food
is
sold
or
distributed,
one
annual
license
fee
of

one
shall
not
exceed
the
following:

(1)
One
hundred
fifty
dollars
for
each
vendor
,
if
the
6
license
is
issued
on
a
countywide
basis.

(2)
Three
hundred
dollars
for
each
vendor,
if
the
license
8
is
issued
on
a
statewide
basis.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
provides
that
a
vendor
selling
time/temperature
13
control
food
at
a
farmers
market
may
elect
to
pay
a
$300
14
fee
for
a
statewide
annual
license
in
lieu
of
a
$150
fee
15
for
a
countywide
license.
The
fees
are
collected
by
the
16
department
of
inspections
and
appeals
and
are
retained
by
and
17
are
appropriated
to
the
department
for
salaries,
support,
18
maintenance,
and
miscellaneous
purposes
associated
with
19
conducting
inspections
(Code
section
137F.3A
and
2018
Iowa
20
Acts,
chapter
1164,
section
11).
A
farmers
market
is
a
place
21
which
operates
seasonally,
principally
as
a
common
market
for
22
Iowa-produced
farm
products,
on
a
retail
basis
for
consumption
23
elsewhere
(Code
section
137F.1).
