Section
92.7,
Code
2019,
is
amended
to
read
as

follows:

92.7
Under
sixteen
——
hours
permitted.

A
person
under
sixteen
years
of
age
shall
not
be
employed

with
or
without
compensation,
except
as
provided
in
sections
5
92.2
and
92.3
,
before
the
hour
of
7:00
a.m.
or
after
7:00
p.m.,
6
except
during
the
period
from
June
1
Memorial
Day
through
Labor
7
Day
when
the
hours
may
be
extended
to
9:00
10:30
p.m.
If
such
8
person
is
employed
for
a
period
of
five
hours
or
more
each
9
day,
an
intermission
of
not
less
than
thirty
minutes
shall
be
10
given.
Such
a
person
shall
not
be
employed
for
more
than
eight
11
hours
in
one
day,
exclusive
of
intermission,
and
shall
not
be
12
employed
for
more
than
forty
hours
in
one
week.
The
hours
of
13
work
of
persons
under
sixteen
years
of
age
employed
outside
14
school
hours
shall
not
exceed
four
in
one
day
or
twenty-eight
15
in
one
week
while
school
is
in
session.

inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
modifies
an
exception
to
the
limitation
on
how

late
a
person
under
16
years
of
age
can
be
employed.
The
bill

permits
a
person
under
16
years
of
age
to
be
employed
until
22
10:30
p.m.
from
Memorial
Day
through
Labor
Day.
Current
law
23
permits
such
a
person
to
be
employed
until
9:00
p.m.
from
June
24
1
through
Labor
Day.
The
limitation
of
7:00
p.m.
for
the
rest
25
of
the
year
is
maintained.
