Section
483A.8,
Code
2019,
is
amended
by
adding
1
the
following
new
subsection:

SUBSECTION

The
commission
shall
adopt
a
rule

permitting
a
person
to
use
an
atlatl
during
any
season
that
is
4
designated
for
taking
deer
by
bow
and
arrow.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
7
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

Under
current
law,
the
natural
resource
commission
is
9
authorized
to
establish
seasons
for
taking
deer
and
may
limit
10
the
method
of
take
used
in
a
particular
season.
This
bill
11
requires
the
commission
to
adopt
a
rule
to
allow
a
person
to
12
use
an
atlatl
during
any
deer
bow
hunting
season
established
13
by
rule.
