S.F. 537 Section 1. Section 481A.93, subsection 2, Code 2019, is 1 amended by adding the following new paragraph: 2 NEW PARAGRAPH . c. A person using an infrared light source 3 to hunt coyotes as long as the infrared light source is mounted 4 to the method of take or to a scope mounted on the method of 5 take. 6 EXPLANATION 7 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 8 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 9 Current law generally prohibits a person from casting 10 artificial light on a highway or in a field, woodland, or 11 forest while taking or attempting to take or hunt a bird or 12 animal while having in possession or control, either singly 13 or as one of a group of persons, any firearm, bow, or other 14 implement or device whereby a bird or animal could be killed 15 or taken.
