S.F. 429 Section 1. REPEAL. 2017 Iowa Acts, chapter 149, section 1 4, as amended by 2018 Iowa Acts, chapter 1170, section 3, is 2 repealed. 3 Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act, being deemed of immediate 4 importance, takes effect upon enactment. 5 EXPLANATION 6 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 7 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 8 In 2017, the general assembly amended Code section 321.477 9 to specify the powers, duties, and limitations of employees 10 of the department of transportation who are designated as 11 peace officers by the department. Under the terms of the 12 legislation, the amended language was set to be repealed 13 effective July 1, 2018. In 2018, the general assembly extended 14 the future repeal provision to July 1, 2019.
