NEW
SECTION
.

Iowa
patriots
memorial

highway.

The
segment
of
the
highway
known
as
United
States
highway
3
20
which
crosses
this
state
from
Sioux
City
to
Dubuque
shall
4
be
designated
as
the
“Iowa
Patriots
Memorial
Highway”.
The
5
department
may
erect
signs
on
or
adjacent
to
the
highway
6
indicating
the
designation.

Sec.
2.
APPLICABILITY.
This
Act
applies
to
the
segment
8
of
the
highway
known
as
United
States
highway
20
described
in
9
this
Act
on
the
effective
date
of
this
Act,
and
shall
apply
to
10
the
segment
of
that
highway
thereafter
regardless
of
whether
11
the
highway’s
designation
as
United
States
highway
20
is
12
subsequently
changed
by
the
government
of
the
United
States.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
designates
the
segment
of
U.S.
highway
20
which
17
crosses
the
state
from
Sioux
City
to
Dubuque
as
the
“Iowa
18
Patriots
Memorial
Highway”,
and
authorizes
the
department
of
19
transportation
to
erect
signs
on
or
adjacent
to
the
highway
20
indicating
the
designation.
The
bill
applies
to
the
segment
of
21
U.S.
highway
20
on
the
effective
date
of
the
bill,
and
applies
22
to
the
segment
thereafter
regardless
of
whether
the
highway’s
23
designation
as
U.S.
highway
20
is
subsequently
changed
by
the
24
federal
government.
