S.F. 2169 Section 1. NEW SECTION . 514C.21A Vaccine administration 1 financial incentives or penalties —— prohibited. 2 A carrier, as defined in section 513B.2, or a plan 3 established pursuant to chapter 509A for public employees, 4 shall not do any of the following regarding the administration 5 of vaccines to covered individuals: 6 1. Provide financial or other incentives to a participating 7 provider based upon attaining a certain vaccine administration 8 rate. 9 2. Impose a financial or other penalty on a participating 10 provider who does not attain a certain vaccine administration 11 rate. 12 EXPLANATION 13 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 14 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 15 This bill prohibits an insurance carrier or a plan for 16 group insurance for public employees from providing financial 17 or other incentives to a participating provider based upon 18 attaining a certain vaccine administration rate or from 19 imposing a financial or other penalty on a participating 20 provider who does not attain a certain vaccine administration 21 rate. 22 -1- LSB 5548XS (1) 88 pf/rh 1/ 1
