NEW SECTION . 70A.21 Political subdivisions —— 1 salary reports. 2 Each political subdivision of this state shall, by 3 November 1 of each year, prepare and make available to the 4 public a salary report on certain personnel of the political 5 subdivision. The report shall contain the name, gender, county 6 or city of residence when possible, official title, salary 7 received during the previous fiscal year, base salary as 8 computed on July 1 of the current fiscal year, and traveling 9 and subsistence expenses of personnel who receive an annual 10 salary of not less than an amount equal to the statewide 11 average weekly wage, as defined in section 96.19, for the 12 applicable fiscal year multiplied by fifty-two. 13 EXPLANATION 14 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 15 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 16 This bill requires each political subdivision of the state 17 to prepare and make available to the public by November 1 18 of each year a salary report on certain personnel of that 19 political subdivision. The bill requires the report to contain 20 the name, gender, county or city of residence when possible, 21 official title, salary received during the previous fiscal 22 year, base salary, and traveling and subsistence expenses of 23 personnel of the applicable political subdivision who receive 24 an annual salary of not less than an amount equal to the 25 statewide average weekly wage, as defined in Code section 26 96.19, multiplied by 52. 27 -1- LSB 5610XS (2) 88 ec/rh 1/ 1
