S.F. 196 Section 1. COST-BASED REIMBURSEMENT FOR CRITICAL ACCESS 1 HOSPITALS UNDER MEDICAID. The department of human services 2 shall adopt rules pursuant to chapter 17A to reinstate 3 cost-based reimbursement and the settlement process under the 4 Medicaid program for critical access hospitals in the state, 5 as designated pursuant to 42 U.S.C. §1395i-4, to provide 6 reimbursement at the rate provided for such hospitals under the 7 federal Medicare program. 8 EXPLANATION 9 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 10 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 11 This bill requires the department of human services to adopt 12 administrative rules to reinstate cost-based reimbursement and 13 the settlement process under the Medicaid program for critical 14 access hospitals to provide reimbursement at the rate provided 15 for these hospitals under the Medicare program. 16 -1- LSB 2269XS (4) 88 pf/rh 1/ 1
