For purposes of this section, “agricultural experience” 2 includes any agriculture-related activity, as a secondary 3 use in conjunction with agricultural production, on a farm 4 which activity is open to the public with the intended purpose 5 of promoting or educating the public about agriculture, 6 agricultural practices, agricultural activities, or 7 agricultural products. 8 2. To assist in the promotion of agricultural experiences, 9 a county shall not require a conditional use permit, special 10 use permit, special exception, or variance for agricultural 11 experiences on property of which the primary use is 12 agricultural production. 13 EXPLANATION 14 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 15 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 16 This bill relates to the ability of counties to regulate 17 certain properties. The bill defines “agricultural 18 experience”, which includes any agriculture-related activity 19 on a farm with the purpose of promoting or educating the 20 public about agriculture, agricultural practices, agricultural 21 activities, or agricultural products.
