H.F. _____ Section 1. Section 35A.13, subsection 6, paragraph o, Code 1 2020, is amended to read as follows: 2 o. Monetary assistance on a one-time basis per recipient 3 to be used to prevent homelessness in an amount not to exceed 4 one thousand dollars per recipient by providing payments for 5 hotel expenses and rental assistance but excluding payments for 6 rental deposits . 7 EXPLANATION 8 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 9 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 10 This bill amends the provision authorizing expenditures 11 from the veterans trust fund created in Code section 35A.13 12 to veterans and spouses and dependents of veterans to prevent 13 homelessness.
