Any
new
residential
construction
for
which
an
initial

building
permit
is
issued
on
or
after
July
1,
2020,
shall

include
the
installation
of
a
radon
abatement
system
consistent

with
the
provisions
of
section
136B.1.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
7
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
relates
to
the
installation
of
radon
abatement
9
systems
in
new
residential
buildings.
The
bill
requires
all
10
new
residential
construction
for
which
an
initial
building
11
permit
is
issued
on
or
after
July
1,
2020,
to
include
the
12
installation
of
a
radon
abatement
system.
