H.F. _____ Section 1. Section 123.56, subsection 5, Code 2019, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 5. Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter , a 3 person engaged in the business of manufacturing native wine 4 may sell native wine at retail for consumption on the premises 5 of the manufacturing facility manufacturer or in a retail 6 establishment operated by the manufacturer by applying for a 7 class “C” native wine permit as provided in section 123.178B . 8 A manufacturer of native wine may be granted not more than 9 one two class “C” native wine permit permits . A manufacturer 10 of native wine may be issued a class “C” native wine permit 11 regardless of whether the manufacturer is also a manufacturer 12 of native distilled spirits pursuant to a class “A” native 13 distilled spirits license. 14 EXPLANATION 15 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 16 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 17 This bill concerns manufacturers of native wines. 18 The bill authorizes a manufacturer of native wine to be 19 granted up to two class “C” native wine permits to sell 20 native wine at retail for consumption on the premises of the 21 manufacturer or in a retail establishment operated by the 22 manufacturer.
