H.F. _____ Section 1. Section 455C.2, subsection 2, Code 2019, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 2. In addition to the refund value provided in subsection 1 3 of this section , a dealer, or a person operating a redemption 4 center who redeems empty beverage containers , or a dealer agent 5 shall be reimbursed by the distributor required to accept the 6 empty beverage containers an amount which is one cent two cents 7 per container. A dealer, dealer agent, or person operating a 8 redemption center may compact empty metal beverage containers 9 with the approval of the distributor required to accept the 10 containers. 11 EXPLANATION 12 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 13 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 14 This bill increases the reimbursement amount received by 15 a dealer or person operating a redemption center who redeems 16 empty beverage containers from 1 cent per container to 2 cents 17 per container.
