H.F. _____ Section 1. Section 35B.6, subsection 1, Code 2019, is 1 amended by adding the following new paragraph: 2 NEW PARAGRAPH . f. An executive director or administrator 3 shall only be removed from office by the commission, subject to 4 the approval of the board of supervisors. 5 EXPLANATION 6 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 7 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 8 This bill relates to the removal from office of county 9 veterans service officers. Code section 35B.6(1)(a) provides 10 that an executive director or administrator (recognized as 11 a county veterans service officer) shall be employed by the 12 county commission of veteran affairs.
