H.F. _____ Section 1. COMMERCIAL DRIVER’S LICENSE DRIVING SKILLS TEST 1 —— STUDY. The department of transportation shall conduct 2 a study on access in this state to the driving skills test 3 required for issuance of a commercial driver’s license. The 4 department shall evaluate and may recommend additional testing 5 options to increase access in this state to the driving skills 6 test required for issuance of a commercial driver’s license. 7 The department shall submit a report, in paper or electronic 8 format, containing the department’s findings, evaluation, 9 and any recommendations to the general assembly on or before 10 December 31, 2019. 11 EXPLANATION 12 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 13 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 14 This bill requires the department of transportation (DOT) to 15 conduct a study on access to the driving skills test required 16 for issuance of a commercial driver’s license.
