House Resolution 25 - Introduced HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 25 BY HEDDENS , WESSEL-KROESCHELL , DEYOE , and BACON A Resolution recognizing Bridget Carleton for her 1 outstanding academic and college basketball career 2 at Iowa State University. 3 WHEREAS, Bridget Carleton currently ranks in the 4 top five in Iowa State University basketball program 5 history for career points (second with 2,142), field 6 goals (third with 713), steals (third with 211), 7 blocked shots (third with 124), and 3-pointers (fifth 8 with 255); and 9 WHEREAS, Ms. Carleton finished her career just eight 10 points shy of becoming Iowa State’s all-time scoring 11 leader; and 12 WHEREAS, Ms. Carleton’s senior season broke Iowa 13 State’s single-season scoring record with 760 points, 14 along with setting the single-season school records for 15 scoring average (21.7 PPG), field-goals made (254), and 16 field-goals attempted (543); and 17 WHEREAS, Ms. Carleton has been named to the Academic 18 All-Big 12 First-Team for the last three consecutive 19 years (2017, 2018, and 2019); and 20 WHEREAS, Ms. Carleton won the 2019 Cheryl Miller 21 Award, which honors the best small forward in National 22 Collegiate Athletic Association Division 1, and was 23 named the 2019 Big 12 Player of the Year; and 24 WHEREAS, for her outstanding senior season, 25 Ms. Carleton was named to the Women’s Basketball 26 Coaches Association Coaches All-America Team, the 27 ESPNW Second-Team All-American, the Associated Press 28 -1- LSB 2822HH (4) 88 mo/rn 1/ 2
