H.F. 9 Section 1. Section 103.15, subsection 4, Code 2019, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 4. For purposes of this section , “the direct personal 3 on-the-job supervision and control and in the immediate presence 4 of a licensee” shall mean the licensee and the apprentice 5 electrician or unclassified person shall be working at the same 6 project location for a minimum of twenty-five percent of each 7 day’s work period but shall not require that the licensee and 8 apprentice electrician or unclassified person be within sight 9 of one another at all times during that entire period of time . 10 EXPLANATION 11 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 12 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 13 Under current Code section 103.15, subsection 3, an 14 apprentice electrician or unclassified person is required to 15 be in the presence of a licensed electrician at all times to 16 perform electrical wiring. This bill amends the definition 17 of “the direct personal on-the-job supervision and control 18 and in the immediate presence of a licensee” to require the 19 licensed electrician to be present for a minimum of 25 percent 20 of each day’s work period for the apprentice electrician or 21 unclassified person to perform electrical wiring. 22 -1- LSB 1154YH (1) 88 gh/rn 1/ 1
