1.
STATE
FIRE
MARSHAL
RULES
——
CHILDREN’S
1
RESIDENTIAL
FACILITIES.
The
state
fire
marshal
shall
2
adopt
fire
safety
rules
pursuant
to
chapter
17A
to
exempt
3
children’s
residential
facilities
certified
pursuant
to
4
chapter
237C
that
are
college
preparatory
boarding
and
day
5
high
schools
established
in
1890
from
the
international
fire
6
code
regulations
and
to
provide
for
an
inspection
fee
of
not
7
more
than
one
hundred
dollars
for
such
facilities.
The
state
8
fire
marshal
shall,
in
collaboration
with
the
department
of
9
human
services,
the
department
of
inspections
and
appeals,
and
10
other
appropriate
agencies,
take
into
consideration
the
size,
11
nature,
and
purpose
of
children’s
residential
facilities
in
12
promulgating
such
rules.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
15
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
directs
the
state
fire
marshal
to
adopt
fire
safety
17
rules
to
exempt
children’s
residential
facilities
certified
18
pursuant
to
Code
chapter
237C
that
are
college
preparatory
19
boarding
and
day
high
schools
established
in
1890
from
the
20
international
fire
code
regulations
and
to
provide
for
an
21
inspection
fee
of
not
more
than
$100
for
such
facilities.

The
state
fire
marshal
is
directed
to
collaborate
with
the
23
department
of
human
services,
the
department
of
inspections
and
24
appeals,
and
other
appropriate
agencies
and
is
required
to
take
25
into
consideration
the
size,
nature,
and
purpose
of
children’s
26
residential
facilities
in
promulgating
such
rules.
