METHODS
FOR
DISPOSAL
OF
BODY
——
STUDY.
The
Iowa
department
of
2
public
health,
in
consultation
with
interested
stakeholders,
3
including
but
not
limited
to
the
Iowa
funeral
directors
4
association,
the
Iowa
board
of
mortuary
science
examiners,
5
and
the
Iowa
department
of
natural
resources,
shall
conduct
a
6
study
on
whether
to
authorize
the
use
of
alkaline
hydrolysis
7
as
a
method
of
disposing
of
a
body
of
a
deceased
person.
At
a
8
minimum,
the
study
shall
consider
what
additional
requirements
9
would
be
necessary
if
alkaline
hydrolysis
was
authorized
in
10
this
state.
The
department
shall
submit
a
report
regarding
11
the
study,
including
its
findings
and
recommendations,
to
the
12
general
assembly
by
January
1,
2020.

by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
requires
the
Iowa
department
of
public
health
to

a
study
on

of
a

of

deceased

person.
The
bill
requires
the
department
to
submit
a
report
to
20
the
general
assembly
about
the
study
