1.
For
purposes
of
this
section,
“endocrine
disrupting
3
chemical”
means
a
chemical
that
may
interfere
with
the
4
body’s
endocrine
system
and
produce
adverse
developmental,
5
reproductive,
neurological,
and
immune
effects
in
both
humans
6
and
nonhuman
animals.
7
2.
The
legislative
council
is
requested
to
authorize
8
the
establishment
of
an
interim
study
committee
to
study
the
9
prevalence
of
endocrine
disrupting
chemicals
in
the
environment
10
and
their
effects
on
human
physiology.
In
conducting
the
study
11
and
developing
recommendations,
the
committee
shall
consider
12
testimony
from
endocrinologists,
pediatricians,
chemists,
13
plastic
producers,
environmental
advocacy
groups,
and
any
other
14
relevant
stakeholders.

3.
The
study
committee
shall
consist
of
three
members
of
16
the
senate,
two
of
whom
shall
be
appointed
by
the
majority
17
leader
of
the
senate
and
one
of
whom
shall
be
appointed
by
18
the
minority
leader
of
the
senate,
and
three
members
of
the
19
house
of
representatives,
two
of
whom
shall
be
appointed
by
20
the
speaker
of
the
house
of
representatives
and
one
of
whom
21
shall
be
appointed
by
the
minority
leader
of
the
house
of
22
representatives.

4.
The
study
committee
shall
meet
during
the
2019
24
legislative
interim
and
submit
its
findings
and
recommendations
25
to
the
general
assembly
by
December
31,
2019.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
requests
the
legislative
council
to
establish
an
30
interim
study
committee
to
study
the
prevalence
of
endocrine
31
disrupting
chemicals
in
the
environment
and
their
effects
on
32
human
physiology.
The
bill
provides
that
in
conducting
the
33
study
and
developing
recommendations,
the
committee
shall
34
consider
testimony
from
interested
stakeholders,
including
