H.F. 482 Section 1. 2017 Iowa Acts, chapter 149, section 4, as 1 amended by 2018 Iowa Acts, chapter 1170, section 3, is amended 2 to read as follows: 3 SEC. 4. REPEAL. The section of this Act amending section 4 321.477 is repealed July 1, 2019 2022 . 5 Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act, being deemed of immediate 6 importance, takes effect upon enactment. 7 EXPLANATION 8 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 9 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 10 In 2017, the general assembly amended Code section 321.477 11 to specify the powers, duties, and limitations of employees 12 of the department of transportation who are designated as 13 peace officers by the department. Under the terms of the 14 legislation, the amended language was set to be repealed 15 effective July 1, 2018. In 2018, the general assembly extended 16 the future repeal provision to July 1, 2019.
