H.F. 283 Section 1. NEW SECTION . 136D.3A Minors’ use of tanning 1 devices prohibited. 2 A tanning facility shall not allow a person under sixteen 3 years of age to use a tanning device. 4 EXPLANATION 5 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 6 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 7 This bill relates to tanning facilities and creates new Code 8 section 136D.3A prohibiting a tanning facility from allowing a 9 person under 16 years of age to use a tanning device. 10 A person who violates the bill is subject to a civil 11 penalty not to exceed $1,000 and an injunction restraining any 12 violation. 13 -1- LSB 2016YH (1) 88 hb/rh 1/ 1
