H.F. 2513 Section 1. Section 137D.1, subsection 3, Code 2020, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 3. “Home bakery” means a business on the premises of a 3 residence in which prepared food is created for sale or resale, 4 for consumption off the premises, if the business has gross 5 annual sales of prepared food of less than thirty-five fifty 6 thousand dollars. However, “home bakery” does not include 7 a residence in which food is prepared to be used or sold by 8 churches, fraternal societies, charitable organizations, or 9 civic organizations. 10 EXPLANATION 11 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 12 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 13 This bill relates to the operation of home bakeries licensed 14 by the department of inspections and appeals.
