Section
423.3,
Code
2020,
is
amended
by
adding

the
following
new
subsection:

SUBSECTION

27A.
The
sales
price
of
tangible
personal

property
or
specified
digital
products
sold,
or
of
services

furnished,
to
a
nonprofit
nursing
facility
licensed
under
5
chapter
135C
to
be
used
in
the
operation
of
the
facility.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
8
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
exempts
from
the
state
sales
and
use
tax
the
10
sales
price
of
tangible
personal
property
or
specified
digital
11
products
sold,
or
services
furnished,
to
a
nonprofit
nursing
12
facility
licensed
under
Code
chapter
135C
to
be
used
in
the
13
operation
of
the
facility.

By
operation
of
Code
section
423.6,
an
item
exempt
from
the
15
imposition
of
the
sales
tax
is
also
exempt
from
the
use
tax
16
imposed
in
Code
section
423.5.
