Section
1.
Section
321.189,
Code
2020,
is
amended
by
adding
1
the
following
new
subsection:

NEW
SUBSECTION
.
10.
Emergency
contact
information.
At
3
the
time
of
application
for,
replacement
of,
or
renewal
of
4
a
driver’s
license,
the
department
shall
collect
from
the
5
licensee
the
names,
telephone
numbers,
and
addresses
of
6
persons
to
be
contacted
if
the
licensee
is
involved
in
an
7
emergency
situation.
The
department
shall
record
the
collected
8
information
in
the
electronic
database
used
by
the
department
9
and
law
enforcement
to
access
registration,
titling,
and
10
driver’s
license
information.

This
bill
requires
the
department
of
transportation
to,

the
