Notwithstanding
section
216.9,
a
public
or
nonpublic
high

school
student
shall
only
participate
in
an
extracurricular

interscholastic
athletic
practice,
contest,
or
competition
that

is
designated
for
the
student’s
biological
sex
as
determined
at

birth.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
provides
that,
notwithstanding
a
specified
12
provision
of
state
law
to
the
contrary,
a
public
or
13
nonpublic
high
school
student
shall
only
participate
in
an
14
extracurricular
interscholastic
athletic
practice,
contest,
or
15
competition
that
is
designated
for
the
student’s
biological
sex

as
determined
at
birth.
