H.F. 2101 Section 1. MEDICAID HOME AND COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES 1 WAIVER —— CONSUMER-DIRECTED ATTENDANT CARE —— ELIGIBLE 2 PROVIDERS. The department of human services shall amend 3 any Medicaid managed care contract, shall amend or adopt 4 administrative rules pursuant to chapter 17A, and shall seek 5 any federal approval, as necessary, to allow the parent or 6 stepparent of a Medicaid member under a Medicaid home and 7 community-based services waiver who is age seventeen or under 8 to provide consumer-directed attendant care services to the 9 Medicaid member. 10 EXPLANATION 11 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 12 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 13 This bill requires the department of human services to 14 amend any Medicaid managed care contract, amend or adopt 15 administrative rules, and seek any federal approval, as 16 necessary, to allow the parent or stepparent of a Medicaid 17 member under a Medicaid home and community-based services 18 waiver who is age 17 or under to provide consumer-directed 19 attendant care services to the Medicaid member. 20 -1- LSB 5660YH (3) 88 pf/rh 1/ 1
