H.F. 2044 Section 1. Section 124E.2, subsection 5, Code 2020, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 5. “Health care practitioner” means an individual licensed 3 under chapter 148 to practice medicine and surgery or 4 osteopathic medicine and surgery , a physician assistant 5 licensed under chapter 148C, an advanced registered nurse 6 practitioner licensed under chapter 152, an advanced practice 7 registered nurse licensed under chapter 152E, or a pharmacist 8 licensed under chapter 155A, who is a patient’s primary care 9 provider. “Health care practitioner” shall not include a 10 physician assistant licensed under chapter 148C or an advanced 11 registered nurse practitioner licensed pursuant to chapter 152 12 or 152E . 13 EXPLANATION 14 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 15 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 16 This bill adds physician assistants, advanced registered 17 nurse practitioners, advanced practice registered nurses, and 18 pharmacists to the list of health care practitioners allowed to 19 certify a patient to receive a medical cannabidiol registration 20 card. 21 -1- LSB 5824YH (3) 88 ss/rh 1/ 1
