Section
124E.2,
subsection
6,
Code
2018,
is

amended
to
read
as
follows:

“Medical
cannabidiol”
means
any
pharmaceutical

grade
cannabinoid
found
in
the
plant
Cannabis
sativa
L.
or

Cannabis
indica
or
any
other
preparation
thereof
that
has
a

tetrahydrocannabinol
level
of
no
more
than
three
percent
,

unless
otherwise
provided
by
the
medical
cannabidiol
board

by
rule,
and
that
is
delivered
in
a
form
recommended
by
the
8
medical
cannabidiol
board,
approved
by
the
board
of
medicine,

and
adopted
by
the
department
pursuant
to
rule.

paragraph
b,

is
amended
to
read
as
follows:

striking
the

This
bill
grants
the
medical
cannabidiol
board
authority
to

alter
the
definition
of
medical
cannabidiol
under
the
medical
31
cannabidiol
Act
(Code
chapter
124E),
to
increase
the
allowable
32
tetrahydrocannabinol
(THC)
level
to
more
than
3
percent.
The
33
bill
also
allows
the
medical
cannabidiol
board
to
alter
the
34
list
of
debilitating
medical
conditions
for
which
the
medical

be

The
bill
strikes
current
law
which
allows
the
medical

cannabidiol
board
to
recommend
increasing
the
THC
level
to
more

than
3
percent
to
the
general
assembly
and
that
the
general

assembly
shall
have
the
sole
authority
to
alter
the
definition
5
of
medical
cannabidiol.
