S.F. _____ Section 1. NEW SECTION . 68A.402C Notification of amendment 1 of a disclosure report. 2 Within one working day of receiving a document adding to, 3 deleting, or changing information on a disclosure report filed 4 in July or October pursuant to section 68A.402, subsection 2, 5 paragraph “a” , or filed pursuant to section 68A.402, subsection 6 2, paragraph “b” , in the amount of at least two hundred fifty 7 dollars from a candidate campaigning to be a state senator or 8 representative or a statewide elected official as defined in 9 section 68B.2, the board shall notify all other candidates for 10 the same position in the same election, who have organized a 11 candidate’s committee pursuant to section 68A.202 and have 12 submitted a written request for notification in a manner 13 prescribed by the board, by electronic mail that the candidate 14 has filed an amended disclosure report. The notification shall 15 include a copy of the disclosure report altered by the amended 16 disclosure report. 17 EXPLANATION 18 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 19 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 20 This bill requires the ethics and campaign disclosure board 21 to notify candidates for state senator or representative 22 or statewide elected office, who have requested such 23 notifications, by electronic mail within one working day of the 24 filing of an amended disclosure report amending a disclosure 25 report filed in July or October of an election year or a 26 supplementary report filed in an election year by another 27 candidate for the same position in the same election.
