S.F. _____ Section 1. VICTIM ASSISTANCE GRANTS. There is appropriated 1 from the general fund of the state to the department of justice 2 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018, and ending June 30, 3 2019, the following amount, or so much thereof as is necessary, 4 to be used for the purposes designated: 5 For victim assistance grants: 6 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $ 200,000 7 The moneys appropriated in this section shall be used to 8 provide a grant to a social services provider that establishes 9 a statewide crisis call center for the victims of crime 10 throughout the state. The social services provider shall be 11 located in a city with a population between 7,040 and 7,050 12 according to the 2010 decennial census. 13 EXPLANATION 14 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 15 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 16 This bill appropriates $200,000 from the general fund of the 17 state to the department of justice for victim assistance grants 18 for fiscal year 2018-2019. 19 The moneys appropriated in the bill are to be used to 20 provide a grant to a social services provider that establishes 21 a statewide crisis call center for the victims of crime 22 throughout the state.
