read
as

lighting
device
or
reflector
displaying
an
amber,

white,
or
blue
light
when
the
lighting
device
or
reflector
is

rear-facing
and
mounted
on
a
motor
truck,
trailer,
tractor,

truck-mounted
snow
blower,
or
motor
grader
owned
by
the

department
while
the
equipment
is
being
used
for
snow
and
ice
8
treatment
or
removal
on
the
public
streets
or
highways.

subsection
is
repealed
on
July
1,
2019.

2015,
the
general
assembly
amended
Code
sections
321.393

and
321.423
(flashing
lights)
to
allow

of

in

conjunction

lighting
devices
and
reflectors
on

certain
motor
vehicles

equipment
owned
by
the
department
of

transportation
and
used
for
snow
and
ice
treatment
or
removal.

Those
provisions
are
set
to
be
repealed
effective
July
1,
2019.
5
This
bill
strikes
the
future
repeal
provisions.
The
bill
also
6
repeals
a
provision
requiring
the
department
of
transportation
7
to
submit
a
report
to
the
general
assembly
prior
to
July
1,
8
2019,
documenting
the
effectiveness
of
displaying
blue
and
9
white
lighting
devices
on
such
vehicles
and
equipment.
