S.F. _____ Section 1. Section 256.9, subsection 18, Code 2018, is 1 amended to read as follows: 2 18. Prepare forms and procedures as necessary to be used 3 by area education agency boards, district boards, school 4 officials, principals, teachers, and other employees, and 5 to insure uniformity, accuracy, and efficiency in keeping 6 records in both pupil and cost accounting, the execution of 7 contracts, and the submission of reports, and notify the area 8 education agency board, district board, or school authorities 9 when a report has not been filed in the manner or on the 10 dates prescribed by law or by rule that the school will not 11 be accredited until the report has been properly filed. The 12 director shall include, on any report for which the department 13 prescribes the form and manner of its submission, a reference 14 to any state or federal statute, rule, or regulation that 15 requires the inclusion of certain information in the report. 16 EXPLANATION 17 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 18 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 19 This bill requires the director of the department of 20 education to cite the state or federal statute, rule, or 21 regulation necessitating the inclusion of information in any 22 report which the department requires a school district, area 23 education agency, and accredited nonpublic school, or the 24 officers or employees of such entities to submit. 25 -1- LSB 5179XC (9) 87 kh/rj 1/ 1
