Section 321.362, Code 2017, is amended to read 1 as follows: 2 321.362 Unattended motor vehicle. 3 No A person driving or in charge of a motor vehicle shall 4 not permit it the vehicle to stand unattended without first 5 stopping the engine, or when standing upon any perceptible 6 grade without effectively setting the brake thereon and turning 7 the front wheels to the curb or side of the highway. 8 EXPLANATION 9 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 10 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 11 Current law prohibits a person from permitting a vehicle to 12 stand unattended without first stopping the engine, or without 13 effectively setting the brake and turning the front wheels to 14 the curb or side of the highway when the vehicle is standing 15 upon any perceptible grade.
