Senate Resolution 5 - Introduced SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 5 BY DVORSKY A Resolution honoring Theresa Kehoe for her dedicated 1 service to the Senate and the General Assembly. 2 WHEREAS, Theresa Kehoe’s more than 30 years of 3 service to the Senate and the Iowa General Assembly is 4 now coming to a close; and 5 WHEREAS, since joining the Senate caucus staff in 6 1986, Theresa has served the Senate in myriad roles, 7 including staff support for the Natural Resources and 8 Environment, Ethics, Education, State Government, and 9 Appropriations Committees, and also the Agriculture and 10 Natural Resources and Transportation, Infrastructure 11 and Capitals Budget Subcommittees; and 12 WHEREAS, Theresa’s knowledge, expertise, 13 professionalism, and upbeat nature ably served 14 the Senate and the General Assembly in assisting 15 lawmakers in fulfilling their constitutional lawmaking 16 duties; and 17 WHEREAS, Theresa has served as a valued mentor for 18 new staff members and Senators by providing good advice 19 and counsel regarding the history and traditions of 20 the Senate as well as providing expert guidance on the 21 lawmaking process; and 22 WHEREAS, Theresa’s long and able assistance as a 23 valuable staff member for the Senate and the Iowa 24 General Assembly was recognized by her inclusion as an 25 honorary Pioneer Lawmaker; and 26 WHEREAS, Theresa has justly earned the right to 27 forgo countless subcommittee and committee meetings, 28 -1- LSB 2153XS (4) 87 ec/rj 1/ 2

S.R. 5 caucuses, and late-night floor debates in the Senate to 1 spend more time with her husband, Bobby Bailey, and her 2 children and grandchildren; NOW THEREFORE, 3 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate 4 recognizes Theresa Kehoe for her extraordinary and 5 long-term public service and her unsurpassed devotion 6 to the Senate and to the General Assembly as the 7 state’s lawmaking institution, and upon her retirement 8 from the Senate caucus staff, wishes her the very best 9 in the years ahead. 10 -2- LSB 2153XS (4) 87 ec/rj 2/ 2
