Senate Resolution 121 - Introduced SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 121 BY COMMITTEE ON RULES AND ADMINISTRATION A Resolution honoring Senator Mark Chelgren for his 1 years of service to the people of Iowa. 2 WHEREAS, the Honorable Mark Chelgren was born and 3 raised in California but settled in Iowa to start a 4 business and raise a family; and 5 WHEREAS, Senator Chelgren was first elected to the 6 Senate in 2010; and 7 WHEREAS, whether filing bills or amendments or 8 rising to make a point of personal privilege, Senator 9 Chelgren passionately strove to make his fellow 10 Senators and the legislative process more accountable 11 to the public from his first days as a Senator; and 12 WHEREAS, over the past eight years Senator Chelgren 13 has faced many difficult issues with an entrepreneurial 14 drive and spirit that will greatly be missed; and 15 WHEREAS, Senator Chelgren has served on a wide 16 array of legislative committees, previously serving on 17 Economic Growth (Ranking Member), and currently serving 18 on the Administrative Rules Review Committee (Chair), 19 Justice System Appropriations Subcommittee (Chair), 20 Appropriations, Education, Human Services, and Local 21 Government standing committees, and the Health Policy 22 Oversight Committee of the Legislative Council; and 23 WHEREAS, Senator Chelgren will be remembered for 24 his tireless effort on behalf of his constituents in 25 Davis, Jefferson, Van Buren, and Wapello counties; NOW 26 THEREFORE, 27 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the members of 28 -1- LSB 6252SV (3) 87 jm/rj 1/ 2
