WHEREAS,
Graceland
University,
founded
in
1895,
and

having
its
main
campus
in
Lamoni,
offers
more
than
50
8
academic
programs
with
a
mission
to
create
learning
9
communities
where
students
develop
their
potential
for
10
meaningful
and
productive
lives;
and
11
WHEREAS,
under
the
leadership
of
coach
Craig
Doty,
12
in
his
second
season
at
Graceland,
the
Yellowjackets
13
men’s
basketball
team
finished
with
an
overall
record
14
of
29
wins
and
10
losses;
and
15
WHEREAS,
the
prestigious
National
Association
of
16
Intercollegiate
Athletics
Men’s
Basketball
National
17
Championship,
established
by
James
Naismith,
has
held
18
an
annual
men’s
basketball
championship
since
1937;
and
19
WHEREAS,
the
2018
National
Association
of
20
Intercollegiate
Athletics
81st
Annual
Division
I
Men’s
21
Basketball
Championship
was
held
in
Kansas
City;
and
22
WHEREAS,
on
Tuesday
night,
March
20,
2018,
the
23
Yellowjackets’
historic
season
came
to
a
dramatic
24
conclusion
when
the
final
shot
as
time
expired
ended
in
25
the
team’s
83-80
overtime
victory
over
Louisiana
State
26
University-Alexandria
in
the
championship
game;
