Senate Resolution 106 - Introduced SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 106 BY SMITH A Resolution amending the permanent rules of the senate 1 for the eighty-seventh general assembly relating to 2 appointments subject to confirmation by the senate. 3 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That Rule 59, 4 unnumbered paragraph 4, permanent rules of the senate, 5 as adopted by the senate during the 2017 Session in 6 Senate Resolution 3, is amended to read as follows: 7 Within the three (3) legislative days after an 8 appointment has been referred to the rules and 9 administration committee, any ten senators may require 10 that the nominee be assigned to an appropriate standing 11 committee by filing a written, signed request therefor 12 with the chairperson of the rules and administration 13 committee. The committee chair shall refer the 14 appointment to a subcommittee within one (1) three 15 (3) legislative day days after a standing committee 16 receives an appointment for further investigation, 17 publishing notice of such assignment in the senate 18 journal for the next legislative day.
