amending

permanent
rules
of
the
senate

the
eighty-seventh
general
assembly
relating
to

appointments
subject
to
confirmation
by
the
senate.

IT
RESOLVED
BY
THE
SENATE,
That
Rule
59,
4
unnumbered
paragraph
4,
permanent
rules
of
the
senate,
5
as
adopted
by
the
senate
during
the
2017
Session
in
6
Senate
Resolution
3,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:

Within
the
three
(3)
legislative
days
after
an
8
appointment
has
been
referred
to
the
rules
and
9
administration
committee,
any
ten
senators
may
require
10
that
the
nominee
be
assigned
to
an
appropriate
standing
11
committee
by
filing
a
written,
signed
request
therefor
12
with
the
chairperson
of
the
rules
and
administration
13
committee.
The
committee
chair
shall
refer
the
14
appointment
to
a
subcommittee
within
one
(1)
three
15
(3)
legislative
day
days
after
a
standing
committee
16
receives
an
appointment
for
further
investigation,
17
publishing
notice
of
such
assignment
in
the
senate
18
journal
for
the
next
legislative
day.
Within
ten
(10)
19
legislative
days
after
a
standing
committee
receives
an
20
appointment
for
further
investigation
,
the
subcommittee
21
shall
file
its
report
with
the
standing
committee.
