S.F. 322 Section 1. NEW SECTION . 257.17A Categorical funding 1 supplement uses —— resolution. 2 1. For the school budget year beginning July 1, 2018, 3 and succeeding budget years, the board of directors of a 4 school district, on or before May 15 preceding the budget 5 year, may adopt a resolution authorizing the school district, 6 notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, to use 7 all or a portion of the moneys the school district will receive 8 for that budget year as the result of the teacher salary 9 supplement, the professional development supplement, the early 10 intervention supplement, or the teacher leadership supplement 11 for any school district general fund purpose. 12 2. Within ten days of adopting the resolution under 13 subsection 1, the board of directors of the school district 14 shall file a copy of the resolution with the department of 15 management and the department of education. 16 EXPLANATION 17 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 18 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 19 For the school budget year beginning July 1, 2018, and 20 succeeding budget years, this bill authorizes the board 21 of directors of a school district to, on or before May 15 22 preceding the budget year, adopt a resolution authorizing the 23 school district to use all or a portion of the moneys the 24 school district will receive for that budget year as the result 25 of the teacher salary supplement, the professional development 26 supplement, the early intervention supplement, or the teacher 27 leadership supplement for any school district general fund 28 purpose. 29 Within 10 days of adopting the resolution, the board of 30 directors of the school district must file a copy of the 31 resolution with the department of management and the department 32 of education. 33 -1- LSB 2109XS (3) 87 md/jh 1/ 1
