APPROPRIATION.
There
is
appropriated
from
the
general
fund

of
the
state
to
the
department
on
aging
for
the
fiscal
year

beginning
July
1,
2017,
and
ending
June
30,
2018,
the
following

amount,
or
so
much
thereof
as
is
necessary,
for
the
purposes
5
designated:

the
public
purpose
of
providing
a
grant
to
an

organization
that
is
the
Iowa
chapter
of
a
national
nonprofit
8
organization
that
is
the
leading
voluntary
health
organization
9
in
Alzheimer’s
care,
support,
and
research
and
provides
10
vital
services,
education,
and
support
to
people
living
with
11
Alzheimer’s
as
well
as
their
family
members
and
caregivers,
12
to
implement
and
expand
the
volunteer
health
and
resilience
13
outreach
(HERO)
project:

The
moneys
appropriated
in
this
section
shall
be
used

for
volunteer
recruitment,
volunteer
training,
and
respite
17
scholarships
to
maintain
caregiver
resilience
and
to
keep
the
18
person
diagnosed
with
Alzheimer’s
or
another
form
of
dementia
19
in
the
person’s
own
home
for
a
longer
period
of
time
than
would
20
otherwise
be
possible.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
appropriates
moneys
from
the
general
fund
of
the
25
state
to
the
department
on
aging
for
FY
2017-2018
for
the
26
public
purpose
of
providing
a
grant
to
an
organization
that
27
is
the
Iowa
chapter
of
a
national
nonprofit
organization
that
28
is
the
leading
voluntary
health
organization
in
Alzheimer’s
29
care,
support,
and
research
and
provides
vital
services,
30
education,
and
support
to
people
living
with
Alzheimer’s
as

well
as
their
family
members
and
caregivers,
to
implement
and

the
