1.
NEW
SECTION
.
232.23A
Authority
to
lock
the
1
facility.
2
The
administrator
in
charge
of
any
secure
or
nonsecure
3
facility
for
the
detention
or
custody
of
juveniles
shall
have
4
the
authority
to
lock
a
door
within
the
facility
provided
that
5
any
juvenile
locked
within
the
facility
is
not
a
juvenile
who
6
has
been
placed
in
the
facility
pursuant
to
any
child
in
need
7
of
assistance
proceeding.
For
purposes
of
this
section,
“lock”
8
means
a
device
to
secure
a
door
that
is
operated
by
a
key,
a
9
combination,
or
an
electronic
system.

The
inclusion
of
this

does
not
constitute
agreement

the

This
bill
permits
the
administrator
in
charge
of
a
secure
or

nonsecure
facility
for
the
detention
or
custody
of
juveniles
to

lock
a
door
within
the
facility
provided
any
juvenile
locked

within
the
facility
is
not
a
juvenile
who
has
been
placed

in
the
facility
pursuant
to
any
child
in
need
of
assistance

proceeding.
The
bill
defines
a
lock
as
a
device
to
secure
a

door
that
is
operated
by
a
key,
a
combination,
or
an
electronic

system.
