S.F. 2333 Section 1. Section 99B.31, subsection 1, paragraph h, Code 1 2018, is amended to read as follows: 2 h. The actual retail value of any prize does not exceed one 3 hundred dollars the designated prize value limit . If a prize 4 consists of more than one item, unit, or part, the aggregate 5 retail value of all items, units, or parts shall not exceed one 6 hundred dollars the designated prize value limit . For purposes 7 of this paragraph, the “designated prize value limit” is nine 8 hundred fifty dollars for an amusement concession conducted at 9 a facility that is at least fifteen thousand square feet and is 10 one hundred dollars for all other amusement concessions. 11 Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act, being deemed of immediate 12 importance, takes effect upon enactment. 13 EXPLANATION 14 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 15 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 16 This bill concerns amusement concessions. 17 The bill increases the maximum allowable retail value for 18 any prize awarded for an amusement concession from $100 to $950 19 only for an amusement concession conducted at a facility that 20 is at least 15,000 square feet. 21 The bill takes effect upon enactment. 22 -1- LSB 5480SV (2) 87 ec/rn 1/ 1
