NEEDS

OLDER

INDIVIDUALS.
In
addition
to
any
other
review
required
under
3
section
2.48
in
2018,
the
legislative
tax
expenditure
committee
4
shall
review
tax
expenditures
to
determine
if
an
existing
tax
5
expenditure
should
be
amended
or
eliminated
in
order
to
provide
6
ongoing
funding
for
the
area
agencies
on
aging
to
meet
the
7
unmet
needs
of
the
increasing
population
of
older
individuals
8
in
the
state.
The
committee
shall
include
in
the
report
to
9
the
legislative
council
required
pursuant
to
section
2.48,
10
subsection
2,
paragraph
“a”,
subparagraph
(2),
recommendations
11
based
upon
the
findings
of
the
committee
to
provide
such
12
ongoing
funding.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
requires
the
legislative
tax
expenditure
committee
17
of
the
legislative
council
in
2018
to
review
tax
expenditures
18
to
determine
if
an
existing
tax
expenditure
should
be
amended
19
or
eliminated
in
order
to
provide
ongoing
funding
for
the
area
20
agencies
on
aging
to
meet
the
unmet
needs
of
the
increasing
21
population
of
older
individuals
in
the
state.
The
bill
22
requires
that
the
committee,
as
part
of
its
required
report
to
23
the
legislative
council,
include
recommendations
based
upon
the
24
findings
of
the
committee
to
provide
such
ongoing
funding.
